About KeepYourGroup

KeepYourGroup is a private service. It is not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency, and it doesn’t give tax or legal advice.

Who runs it

KeepYourGroup is a product of Studio Pyrizhky. Operated by Studio Pyrizhky, Washington State (LLC formation pending). A person answers every email at support@keepyourgroup.com.

What it does

Central organizations that hold an IRS group exemption (church centrals excepted) now file Form 15644 every year. KeepYourGroup shows each group’s filing window for free, and sells a report that lists the chapters the IRS has on file, flags chapters that need follow-up, and drafts the form for the central organization to review and file. We never file anything for you.

Where the data comes from

Only public IRS files:

  • the Exempt Organizations Business Master File extract (the IRS roster file): IRS EO BMF, posted Oct 13, 2026;
  • the Form 990-N (e-Postcard) file: IRS 990-N file, updated Oct 19, 2026;
  • the automatic revocation list: IRS revocation list, includes revocations posted through Oct 13, 2026;
  • an earlier copy of the IRS roster file: IRS EO BMF as archived Oct 1–3, 2024 (Internet Archive), used to find chapters revoked since then.

IRS 990-N file, updated Oct 19, 2026: The IRS download page still shows Sep 7, 2026 for this file; the copy we downloaded on Oct 23, 2026 contains later data.

IRS revocation list, includes revocations posted through Oct 13, 2026: The IRS download page still shows Sep 8, 2026 for this file; the copy we downloaded on Oct 23, 2026 contains later data.

The IRS roster file may not list every chapter: IRS Publication 4573 notes that most subordinates aren’t listed separately, and the central organization, not the IRS, decides who belongs to the group. The report shows what the IRS has on file so you can compare it with your own records.

The rules come from Rev. Proc. 2026-8 and the Form 15644 instructions (Rev. 10-2026). Every number on the site and in the reports shows its source file and date.

How the data is built and checked

The IRS updates its files about monthly. Each month a scheduled job downloads them, checks row counts and columns against the previous month, rebuilds every group’s page and report, and stops if a file looks wrong. A person reviews the results before anything changes on the site.

Because the IRS files can lag or contain errors, the report links to the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, where you can check a single chapter by EIN. It draws on the same IRS data, so it can lag too.
